Hampton Court Palace is a beautiful royal palace situated in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames which is only 30 minutes’ drive from the hotel. It is one of historical royal palaces along with Tower of London, Banqueting House, Kensington Palace and Kew Palace. This royal palace is the favourite home of King Henry VIII and has not been inhabited by the British Royal Family since the 18th century.
The royal palace is open to public and well known as one of famous local attractions in West London in terms of its size and the variety of things-to-see. The palace displays numerous works of art and paintings from the Royal Collection including Henry VIII’s crown sits on display. Apart from that, visitors will be amazed by the 60 acres gardens and the celebrated maze which is rare to find in London. There is the oldest tennis court that dated back to the last century for visitors to stopover, plus the largest grape vine that was planted in 1769 and is proudly submitted to Guinness World Book 2005! Hampton Court Palace certainly is well worth a visit while you are in London.
You will find a beautiful masterpiece of religious architecture, The Chapel Royal in Tudor style that hosts traditional services throughout the year. You might also spend an hour touring at the Tudor Kitchens, one of very exclusive must-see in the royal palace. It was built between 1530 and 1737 and the largest kitchen of their era that could host up to 600 guests per royal banqueting.
The royal palace’s home park is a perfect venue in summer for the fabulous annual Hampton Court Palace Festival and Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.
