Hotel near Notting Hill

Notting Hill is one of London’s most attractive areas in west London, located north of Kensington within the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.  It is a place where you could find everything from urban galleries and theatres, artistic shops to vibrant restaurants and bars.  Stop by one of London’s weird and wonderful museums, The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising displaying over 12,000 items, mapping the evolution of consumer culture.  Make sure you spare some time over your weekend for the world’s famous antique market on Portobello Road.  Saturday is the main day when everything is in full swing, featuring the opening of hundreds of antique and specialist shops and stalls that will certainly amaze you. There are also plenty of remarkable book shops and fancy local coffee shops to sit back and relax during the day.

Britain’s Biggest Annual Street Festival

Notting Hill Carnival has been taking place since 1966 on the streets of Notting Hill and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea every August Bank Holiday.  It attracts millions of visitors coming to celebrate Europe’s biggest street party.  The Caribbean-themed colours, music, dance and flavours continue to grow in popularity to international tourists whom are looking for something unique in London.  It is one of the most significant events in the UK as well as one of the world’s largest street festivals celebrating a spirit of diversity, art and culture in London.

The streets of West London will be filled with performers in extravagant and colourful costumes winding their way to the live bands.  Delicious food stalls are everywhere when you crave for some authentic Caribbean bites throughout the day.  You will discover different musical performances, marching bands and amazing stage shows along the most colourful street parade.  If you are looking for a fabulous family day out with smaller crowds, Children’s Day is recommended for a fun and kid-friendly vibe.
