Driving: Drive via A4 316 and pass by Kew, Mortlake, North Sheen and Richmond. Drive further along Twickenham Road towards St Margaret’s and Twickenham.
Public Transport: Walk a couple of minutes to Gunnersbury train station and take the District line toward Richmond. Get off at either Kew Gardens or Richmond station to wander around the Richmond upon Thames area.

The River Thames itself runs for at least 10 miles through the borough passing Hampton Court, Kingston, Teddington, Twickenham, Richmond, Syon House and Kew. Many local and international visitors come to Richmond upon Thames to experience all the local attractions and wonderful sightseeing spots from royal parks such as Richmond Park, theatres and museums to historical houses and town centres.

Enjoy a walk along the Thames Path
One of the many great activities to do when in London is follow the Thames Path. The Thames Path is one of the many National Trails in the UK, running all the way from Greenwich to Cirencester.
You don’t have to walk the entire path to be able to enjoy it. Clayton Chiswick Hotel is very close to a large part of the trail. From Barnes Bridge, you can walk to Putney, to Richmond and even Hampton Court. This will take you through some lovely areas of West London, including St Margaret’s and Twickenham. If you’re feeling brave, some even travel as far as Staines and Windsor. You can also travel the other way up to the London Eye.
